NPTC Group of Colleges best in the UK for Plastering

Fresh from winning the Collino Trophy, the plastering department at NPTC Group of Colleges has once again received recognition of excellence from The Worshipful Company of Plaisterers, winning the much-coveted John G Robinson Trophy, presented to the best overall performing college in the UK.

The Worshipful Company of Plaisterers is one of the ancient Livery Companies of the City of London. The Company encourages excellence in all aspects of plastering, closely supporting and promoting the plastering trade through a number of initiatives, including ‘The Plaisterers’ Training Awards’. The Awards recognise the contribution of training colleges and independent training providers to all aspects of training, education and life-long learning, all vital to the future of plastering and drylining within the UK construction industry.

A team of independent experts oversaw the judging process in each category and the winners were announced at a special awards dinner on the 25th November 2019.

Ian Lumsdaine, Head of School: Construction and the Built Environment congratulated the team for their outstanding achievement, saying: “To be awarded the Collino Trophy for the best performing College delivering NVQ Level 2 (large College category) is a significant achievement in itself but to then be formally recognised as the best overall performing College from across the UK is testament to the plastering department staff’s hard work, dedication and commitment to student success.

Indeed, currently, there are more students studying plastering at NPTC Group of Colleges than Leeds College of Building (the only dedicated College of Building in the UK), which demonstrates the reputation that the plastering section at NPTC Group of Colleges has built.”

NPTC Group of Colleges offers a range of plastering courses within the School of Construction and the Built Environment.
