Coronavirus – Lilliput Day Nursery, Neath College

Lilliput Day Nursery at Neath College will re-open to Under 2s on Thursday, October 8th, following a positive case of COVID-19 on Sunday, October 3rd. The Nursery will fully re-open on Friday, October 16th.

The College continues to work closely with Public Health Wales and the TTP team. Deep cleaning of the Nursery has been completed and the College continues to follow Welsh Government and Public Health Wales guidelines to ensure measures are in place and prevent the spread of the virus.

Please be advised, the rest of Neath College, and all other sites, remain open as usual.

The College continues to work closely with Public Health Wales following the identification of a positive case of COVID-19 at the Lilliput day Nursery, Neath College, Dwr-y-Felin Road, on Sunday October 3. The Nursery remains closed while the track and trace process continues.

Anyone who is identified as a contact of the confirmed case will be asked to continue to self-isolate until 15th October. Deep cleaning of the Nursery has been completed.

The College continues to follow Welsh Government and Public Health Wales guidelines and safety measures are in place to try and prevent the spread of the virus.

NPTC Group of Colleges has been informed by Public Health Wales that a child attending the Lilliput Nursery at Neath College on Dwr-y-Felin Road, has tested positive for COVID-19. The positive case was known to have attended the afternoon sessions in the Nursery on the 30th September and 1st October.

All children and staff who may have been in contact with the infected case, are being asked to self-isolate until the track and trace process is completed and in order to allow deep cleansing of the Nursery.

The decision has been taken to close the Nursery until the track and trace process has been completed. During this period, in-depth contact tracing will be undertaken. Usually, the track and trace system will be complete within 24 hours, but may take a little while longer. The College will provide regular updates to those who may have been in contact with the infected case as they may be required to self-isolate further, until October 15th.

The College continues to follow Welsh Government and Public Health Wales guidelines and safety measures are in place to try and prevent the spread of the virus.
