‘TRAINEE’ SHIPS: NAVIGATE TO THE DESTINATION OF YOUR CHOICE

If you are aged 16-18 years, the ‘Trainee’ ships offer learning programmes to support you to build work-related skills and identify career choices. There are different levels depending on an individual’s needs and you will be paid whilst on the programme until you venture onto your Apprenticeship, College, or Work journey.

There are many areas of work that we can discuss. The traineeship programmes offer personalised support so, it is better that we have a chat to discover your like and dislikes. Then plan your programme together!

What levels are available?

Dependent on your current experience and qualifications you can opt for:

Traineeship Engagement or Traineeship Level 1. These are usually the first step before progressing to:

  • Apprenticeship
  • College
  • Employment.
How many hours do I need to every week?

The engagement level is usually 16 hours of work-related activities, each week of attending.

Level one is a minimum of 30 hours each week of attending.

How many weeks is it for?

This is personalised to the needs of the individual so, we can chat about this.

How much will I be paid?

Engagement is £30 per week and Level 1 is £50 per week, if you complete the agreed activities and hours. You can also claim for certain other expenses, this can be explained to you on an individual basis.
