The AS Level / A Level course is based on set texts, grammar, film and creative writing. AS Students will discuss the film ‘Hedd Wyn’ and the drama ‘Y Twr’ by Gwenlyn Parry. There will be an oral exam, two pieces of written coursework and a written exam.
A2 students will study prose of the Middle Ages and poetry – ‘Yr Hengerdd’ (Old Welsh Poetry) and ‘y Cywyddau’ (Medieval Welsh Poetic Form). There will be an oral exam and an additional written exam that will require students to appraise literature and the Welsh language in context.

6 GCSEs, Grades A-C including Maths, English and Welsh Language and Literature (First Language) grade B or higher will be required.
