Care Studies – BSc (Hons): Top-up Degree

Course Overview

The multidisciplinary vocational range of the BSc care programme uses the L4&5 modules to underpin the essential ‘hands-on’ element of the provision for candidates who wish to continue their academic career in the field of Health. The 3rd year of the full BSc programme reflects the academic requirements of the qualification focussing upon the application of theoretical concepts relating to modular specifications.

This course is run in partnership with the University of Wales, Trinity Saint David.

  • Entry Requirements

    Transition from the FD programme or other relevant L5 qualification which may be used a direct entry to the top up year.

  • Career Prospects

    Graduate progression can take a number of routes; for example, continued vocational training in specialist areas and subsequent professional registration, employment within the industry, or further post grad. study. Historically, students in this field have gained employment across the Health and Social Care sector, often developing current roles in specialist areas or moving into management positions. Students completing the BSc (Hons) Care Studies programme are well equipped for future application to associated professions such as Police force, Rehabilitation teams, 3rd Sector Project Management, Youth work as well as roles involving or focusing on Teaching and Lecturing.

  • Course Details

    The programme will usually include lectures and tutorial sessions. You will usually have to complete presentations, projects and written assignments as you progress through the academic year. A dissertation is required
