BTEC Level 3 Business with Entrpreneurial Skills (Full-Time)
Course Overview
The Diploma takes two years of study. At the end of year 1 students will have achieved either the BTEC Extended Certificate or Foundation Diploma allowing them to progress to year 2. Students will be interviewed prior to admission to decide whether they will study for the Diploma or Certificate in year 1.
Students will have the opportunity to participate in a range of trips and visits and community projects. They will also particiapte in the Skills competions for Enterprise, setting up their own business idea for marketing.
BTEC Level 3 Extended Certificate in Business
5 GCSE’s in total
Students must have either GCSE English or Maths with a C grade or above and be committed to resitting the missing GCSE.
BTEC Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Business
6 GCSE’s in total
Students must have both Maths and English GCSE with grade C or above.
Successful completion of year 1 will enable students to be invited to progress onto Year 2 to further their studies with a view to progressing onto University or full time employment. Most students progress to higher education to study degrees in Business, Finance or related subjects such as Law.
Many students aspire to careers in finance such as in accountancy or banking but this qualification will give you a broad business background for all kinds of administration, management and business roles.
The course covers a range of units including Recruitment, Marketing, Finance, Event Management, Customer Service and Business Strategy.
All students will also undertake the Advanced Welsh Baccalaureate qualification, which is integrated into the course.
Assessment will be a combination of coursework assignments, external examinations and controlled assessments. You will be prepared fully for these.
Students are encouraged to purchase a course textbook and provide the necessary paper, pens, and folders and have sufficient funds on their ID cards to allow them to print work. A laptop or similar is recommended
