The BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Production Arts is a Full-time Further Education course designed for students who are interested in the technology and processes that underlie modern TV, film production and performing Creative Arts events. We offer a range of specialisms including; scenic art, set construction, costume construction, propmaking, set and costume design and make-up and hair for performers.
You will follow a broad based introduction to the specialisms and have the opportunity to take part in a major study at the end of each year. During the course you will have the opportunity to engage with the broad and diverse range of performance programmes.
The combination of venues, workshops, construction spaces, design studios, stage and workshop technologies. This is located in the Creative, Visual and Performing Arts (CVP) department.
5 GCSEs at A* - C , to include Maths or English/Welsh is achieved. Level 2 BTEC Diploma in a related subject at Merit Grade or above.
All students also need to present a satisfactory portfolio of practical work at interview.
This qualification will allow students to pursue employment as stage crew, assistant designer, a scenic artist or an assistant manager in performing arts venues and TV & Film productions.
Alternatively this qualification provides progression to Higher Education in courses such as Film Set and Television Design, Costume & Performance Design, Make Up and Special Effects for Television and Film.
