Course Overview

The Certificate in Higher Education in Working with Vulnerable Adults is a one-year, full-time Higher Education programme that will suit individuals currently or aspiring to work with and care for vulnerable adults.

This course is run in partnership with the University of South Wales.

  • Entry Requirements

    Typical offer: 2 A Levels at C Grade or MM profile from a BTEC Level 3 Diploma and three GCSEs at Grade C or above, to include English and Maths (or equivalent qualifications).

  • Career Prospects

    This qualification will enhance career prospects within the health and social care field, particularly working with voluntary agencies dealing with vulnerable adults and as advice workers in the Health and Social Care and Social Services.

    Students may progress onto the Diploma in Higher Education in Public Health or onto Year 2 of the FD (Hons) in Care Studies.

  • Course Details

    The programme will include lectures, seminars, project work, workshop and tutorial sessions. You will usually have to complete portfolios, presentations, case studies and written assignments as you progress through the programme.
