The City & Guilds Level 1 Diploma in Professional Cookery & Food Service (VRQ) course gives a practical and professional approach to food production and service techniques, designed for students who have little or no experience of the hospitality and catering industry. This is designed for students interested in cooking the food service industry. It will allow you to gain new skills and enable you to progress to higher qualifications or entry into the industry. Throughout the course, you will be exposed to real life situations through the Training Restaurants gaining valuable experience of the industry whilst being taught by experienced highly skilled staff. This is located in the Catering, Hospitality and Agriculture (CHA) department.

The completion of this course will give learners the opportunity to gain a national recognised vocational specific qualification leading either to direct employment in the industry or progression to the VRQ Level 2
