Diploma in Agriculture Level 2 (Full-Time)

Course Overview

The Level 2 Diploma in Agriculture is a Full-time Further Education course designed for students who are interested in farming and agricultural methods. You normally attend college for three days per week and study all aspects of basic agriculture to include livestock production, crop production estate maintenance and tractor and machinery maintenance and operations. The remaining days will be spent gaining relevant work experience within a suitable farm. This is located in the Catering, Hospitality and Agriculture (CHA) department.

  • Entry Requirements

    Welsh Baccalaureate Foundation Pass/ Pass* and the appropriate range of GCSEs A*-E.

  • Career Prospects

    Progression will be either to the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Agriculture or to the Level 3 Apprenticeship in Agriculture.

  • Course Modules

    You will also have the opportunity via to take certificates of competence in: ATV, Telescopic Handler, etc, Introduction to Farm Animal Production, Introduction to Land-based Machinery Operations, Introduction to Animal and Plant Husbandry, Tractor Driving, Introduction to Land-based Workshop Practice, Introduction to Grass and Forage Crop Production. You will need appropriate working clothes and footwear to include overalls, waterproofs, steel toecap boots and wellingtons. All working clothes and footwear must be clean as biosecurity is of maximum importance.
