Fabrication & Welding Level 2 (Full-Time)

Course Overview

This full-time one year course that is designed for candidates who want to learn fabrication and welding skills in an Engineering environment. You will practice and develop the skills required for employment and/or career progression in the fabrication and welding industry. The course includes units such as: Health and Safety, Engineering drawing, Science and Calculations, MAGS welding, TIG welding, Fabrication and Oxy-fuel gas cutting.

  • Entry Requirements

    4 GCSEs at grade A*-C including Math’s and English.

  • Career Prospects

    Students can continue their studies or enter into employment and continue to study on a day release basis or enter into a sponsored Modern Apprenticeship with a participating employer. Those who have also successfully completed the Level 2 could also continue onto a Level 3 engineering program that we offer e.g.; Engineering Level 3 Advanced Diploma Programmes; Maintenance.

    EAL Performing Engineering Operations Level 2

  • Assessment

    This course requires continual assessment of practical observations, quality checks of engineered components and college based assignments which will be collated as portfolio evidence to meet the needs of the awarding body. Short written assignments and online examinations are scheduled at key stages throughout the course.
