Level 1 Painting & Decorating course consists of both practical and theory elements. This course designed for students who are interested in becoming a painter or decorator.
Practical sessions take place in a fully equipped workshop and training is given by qualified trainers/ assessors who have a construction trade background. Theory lessons, including essential skills, provide important underpinning knowledge and understanding to support practical training sessions.
All learners are encouraged to participate in Skills Competitions as a means of enhancing their practical ability and developing higher level skills. Many of the School’s learners represent the College in Skills Competitions at a regional, Welsh and UK level and the School enjoys much success as a result of Learners achievements.
We are continuously recognised for excellence in a number of areas including; brickwork, carpentry and joinery, plastering and technical and professional studies.
We have well established links with a number of employers and many of our Learners progress into Apprenticeships or Higher Education on completion of their programme of study. This is located in the Construction and the Built Environment (CBE) department.
No formal entry requirements (interview).
NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Painting and Decorating (with work-placed employment) or you can progress onto a Level 2 Diploma in Painting and Decorating and relevant employment in the construction industry.
You will require a range of Personal Protective Equipment and stationary prior to starting on the course including: Safety Boots, Safety Glasses, Dust Mask, Calculator, Scale rule, Pens, pencils and paper, A4 lever arch file.
