The Level 1 Plastering is a Full-time Further Education course designed for students who are interested in working within the construction industry as a plasterer. This is located in the Construction and the Built Environment (CBE) department.
It consists of practical, theory and key skills sessions. Practical sessions take place in fully equipped workshops and assessment is conducted by qualified assessors. Theoretical sessions provide underpinning knowledge and understanding to support practical sessions. NPTC Group of Colleges’ plastering department has been named the best in the UK for an outstanding second year running.
The College has just been awarded the coveted John G. Robinson trophy by the Master and Wardens of the Worshipful Company of Plaisterers for being the best overall performing plastering department in the UK.
All learners are encouraged to participate in Skills Competitions as a means of enhancing their practical ability and developing higher level skills. Many of the School’s learners represent the College in Skills Competitions at a regional, Welsh and UK level and the School enjoys much success as a result of Learners achievements.
We are continuously recognised for excellence in a number of areas including; brickwork, carpentry and joinery, plastering and technical and professional studies.
We have well established links with a number of employers and many of our Learners progress into Apprenticeships or Higher.
No formal entry requirements (interview).
Successful completion of the course will enable progression to Intermediate Level 2 award and the possibility of a modern apprenticeship.
Learners will require a range of Personal Protective Equipment and stationary prior to starting on the course including: Safety Boots, Safety Glasses, Dust Mask, Calculator, Scale rule, Pens, pencils and paper, A4 lever arch file.
