Level 2 Health and Social Care: Principles and Contexts (Full-Time)

Course Overview

The Level 2 Health and Social Care: Principles and Contexts is a Full-time Further Education course designed for students who are interested in a career in the Health and Social Care industry. This is located in the Health, Social and Childcare (HSC) department.

This course covers a range of units such as Human Development, Communication, Equality, Diversity & Rights, Anatomy and Physiology, Healthy Living, Supporting Individual Rights and Health and Social Care Values. You will also gain practical experience from completing a 30-hour work placement.

  • Entry Requirements

    2 GCSEs C or above one in an academic subject. Welsh Baccalaureate National and subject specific GCSEs as requested. You will be invited to an interview and must be willing to show your commitment and desire to learn. We also ask for a positive reference. You will also need to undertake an enhanced DBS check to ensure your suitability to work with people in Health and Social Care settings.

  • Career Prospects

    When you successfully complete the course you may choose to go directly into employment in the Health and Social Care industry in a supervised role. Alternatively, providing you meet the entry requirements, you could progress onto another course such as the L3 Health and Social Care Diploma or the L2 or L3 CACHE Diploma in Children’s Care, Learning and Development.
