This Enhanced full-time one year course is designed as pre-apprenticeship course involves the skills and knowledge needed to do the job, ability to organise work and identify and prevent problems for candidates wanting to progress into the field of Mechanical Engineering environment.
There are both practical and theoretical classes in Milling, Turning and fitting, Computer-Aided Drafting, Computer Numerical Control, and 3D printing. Development of soft skills, (Application of Number, Communication, and Digital Literacy. problem solving, Literacy and Numeracy skills related to engineering environment throuout.
This engineering course is made up of practical and theoretical lessons (Milling, Turing, and Fitting), VRQ Level 2, Computer- Aided Drafting, Computer Numerical Control, Essential Skills Suite of Qualifications (Application of Number, Communication, and Digital Literacy & Essential Employability Skills) and tutorials.
In addition, you will need to complete a minimum of five weeks work experience and participate in the minimum of five industrial visits.
