The Level 2 Diploma in Plastering is a Full-time Further Education course designed to enhance the plastering skills already gained at Level 1 and will equip the student for a job as a plasterer in the construction industry. This is located in the Construction and the Built Environment (CBE) department.
The course will cover practical craft skills, job knowledge and advanced trade techniques which will include external render finishes, dry lining, floor screeding and fibrous plastering. NPTC Group of Colleges’ plastering department has been named the best in the UK for an outstanding second year running. The College has just been awarded the coveted John G. Robinson trophy by the Master and Wardens of the Worshipful Company of Plaisterers for being the best overall performing plastering department in the UK. All learners are encouraged to participate in Skills Competitions as a means of enhancing their practical ability and developing higher level skills. Many of the School’s learners represent the College in Skills Competitions at a regional, Welsh and UK level and the School enjoys much success as a result of Learners achievements. We are continuously recognised for excellence in a number of areas including; brickwork, carpentry and joinery, plastering and technical and professional studies. We have well established links with a number of employers and many of our Learners progress into Apprenticeships or Higher Education on completion of their programme of study.
Level 1 qualification in Plastering.
Successful completion can lead to the Level 3 Diploma. This qualification, if supplemented with work-based evidence, can lead to an NVQ 3.
Learners will require a range of Personal Protective Equipment and stationary prior to starting on the course including: Safety Boots, Safety Glasses, Dust Mask, Calculator, Scale rule, Pens, pencils and paper, A4 lever arch file.
