C&G 2377 Portable Appliance Testing (PAT)

Course Overview

This part-time Portable Appliance Testing course is aimed at managers, engineers, technicians, appointed individuals or persons involved in the health and safety aspects of electrical equipment. The course is based on the IEE Code of Practice for in-service inspection and testing of electrical equipment and covers the law and the scope of legislation for the testing of electrical equipment.

The course covers the theory and practice of portable appliance testing (PAT) leading to the City & Guilds 2377 examinations.

 

 

  • Entry Requirements

    There are no formal entry requirements for candidates undertaking this qualification. However, centres must ensure that candidates have the potential and opportunity to successfully gain the qualification.

    It is expected that candidates will have basic knowledge of electrical science and be capable of using Ohm’s Law and basic calculations, though these areas are covered to some extent on the course.

    Students will need a copy of the current Code of Practice for In-service Inspection and Testing
