VTCT Level 2 Diploma in Women’s Hairdressing (Full-Time)

Course Overview

The VTCT Level 2 Diploma in Women’s Hairdressing is a Full-time Further Education course designed for students who are interested in a career as a hairdresser within the hairdressing and applied therapies industry. This is located in the Hairdressing and Applied Therapies (HAT) department.

The course covers basic cutting, styling and setting skills, colouring, shampooing and conditioning, client consultation (including the recognition of diseases and disorders of the hair and scalp), basic salon health and safety, essential skills and retail.

  • Entry Requirements

    Interview prior to enrolment. Learners must have achieved the Level 1 Diploma in Hairdressing, plus 2 GCSEs grades D or above.

  • Career Prospects

    This qualification will allow learners to continue their studies to Level 3 Diploma in Hairdressing and/or advanced skills courses.

  • Additional Costs

    Learners will be required to purchase a uniform and access to a camera (not a mobile phone) would be an advantage for portfolio documentation.
