The VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Sports Massage Therapy is a one-year, part-time course. It introduces the fundamentals of sport massage, including pre-event, post-event, inter-event and preventative. The course develops a range of sports massage techniques tailored to suit athletes from different sports. By the end of the course, you will be able to obtain insurance and practice with a sports club or work with private clients.
The course tutor has many years of experience in the field of sports therapy including the London Olympics and Commonwealth Games, whilst running a successful specialist clinic.
Learners must hold an interest in sport and have preferably achieved a grade C in GCSE English.
Learners can progress to the Level 4 Certificate in Sports Massage Therapy.
Assessment methods include a combination of assignments, workbooks, practical assessments and an end of unit exam (Anatomy & Physiology). A sports massage logbook of 50 hours.
