This course, which is approved by the College of Policing, will be delivered by experienced ex-police personnel at NPTC Group over a 12-week period, for one day a week (Sat or Sun).

The cost is £749 and you will learn how to:

  • Support victims and witnesses
  • Arrest, detain and report
  • Interview suspects
  • Search individuals, vehicles, premises and open spaces
  • Manage conflict plus much more...

How will I be taught?

As well as the theory behind policing, our course also comprises of practical elements including taught sessions, discussions, role play, staged scenarios and guest speakers.

Entry Requirements

You need to meet the required level for entry into the police service (see Achievement of the CKP does not guarantee a place in the police service but will certainly help prepare you for seeking employment in police forces in England and Wales. The qualification is also relevant to other related roles within the police service and may be considered to access a degree programme in Police Studies.

Throughout the course you will have a series of formal assignments, as set by City and Guilds, as well as tutorials and one-to-one sessions. You will also need to study in your own time. We will provide feedback and support throughout the whole course to ensure you are on track. You will also have informal tests for each of the modules.
