NPTC GROUP HEADS UP INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE
Peter Snowball, Head of NPTC Group’s School of Building Engineering Services, will be joining a long list of experts speaking at the 2014 Fire Sprinkler International Conference in London this summer.
Welsh Assembly Member Ann Jones recently introduced a private members’ bill to ensure all new and renovated domestic properties will have fire suppression systems installed. Recently, the NPTC Group received the seal of approval for training the tradesmen and women of the future to fit water sprinklers in all new houses from May 2014.
The College is the only institution of its kind working with the British Automatic Fire Sprinkler Association (BAFSA) and Skills for Security (SSO) to develop a training programme to up-skill existing plumbers and heating trades’ people. They will then be equipped with the skills to be able to install, commission and maintain water sprinklers in domestic premises.
The international conference is being hosted by the European Fire Sprinkler Network and the British Automatic Fire Sprinkler Association and will be welcoming speakers from all over the world including Europe, America and South America.
Mr Snowball will take a look at Practical Training and give an Insight into the Up-Skilling Award for Installers developed at the College.
Fire Sprinkler International 2014 will provide a unique forum for those who wish to change the attitudes of legislators, regulators and building owners. The event will demonstrate best practice, plus give information on the wider and more effective uses of current sprinkler technology.
