Students at NPTC Group of Colleges (formerly Neath Port Talbot College and Coleg Powys) have succeeded on gaining top marks in their A Level examinations and National/Extended Diploma qualifications.

For the ninth year in succession, the overall pass rate exceeded 99 per cent. In 40 subjects out of the 46 offered, students achieved a remarkable 100 per cent pass rate.
More than half the students sitting A Level exams achieved A* to B grades, and more than three quarters achieved A* to C grades.

The pass rate at the College has once again exceeded the national benchmark and staff are extremely proud of the students who followed the Gifted and Talented programme at Neath Port Talbot Sixth Form Academy where 100 per cent of students gained A* to B grades and 98 percent of those students achieved an A* or A grade.

In addition, a record 67 students achieved an excellent outcome of triple distinction grades in the National/Extended Diploma qualifications, with a further 22 students achieving the highest possible grade profile of D*, D*, D*.

An outstanding 180 students achieved the Welsh Baccalaureate qualification, which is the equivalent to grade an A grade at A Level.

The results follow the latest Welsh Government’s Learner Outcomes Report (LOR) 2012/13, which shows that the NPTC Group was once again the best performing FE College in Wales for overall success

NPTC Group’s success continues to grow and the recent merger has resulted in one of the widest ranges of subjects being offered in Wales, including A Levels. Its Gifted and Talented programme continues to excel to help ensure students reach their full potential.
Mark Dacey, Chief Executive Officer of NPTC Group said that the quality of education has continued to flourish.

He added: “Great results again for NPTC Group, of which we can all be proud. This continued success strengthens further our reputation as being a high achieving College. The quality of education we deliver along with that of our partner schools keeps growing and it means we are providing our students with the best possible opportunity to gain outstanding qualifications. The merger has brought many opportunities and I am confident we will go from strength to strength.”
