Newtown College is pleased to announce that talented Art and Design student Esme Perry is presenting her work in an exhibition at The Hafren Theatre, Gallery, now open to the public until November.
Esme, currently studying for a Level 3 Diploma in Art and Design, recently won the regional Graffiti Mural competition, funded by The Speaker’s Art Fund (House of Commons). Her winning mural, created in collaboration with a professional graffiti artist is now permanently displayed outside the theatres bar area.
This achievement has opened new doors for Esme, including the opportunity to exhibit her work in the theatre gallery space alongside local artist Mo Vyse. Her exhibition features a diverse range of skills including oil painting, pencil drawing and photography.
“Winning the competition has led to some exciting opportunities and helped me become more confident in my work” said Esme “I hope to progress to university to grow my skills and further my career in the arts”
Art and Design Lecturer at Newtown College Nia Newson commented “Esme has shown great progress and confidence in her work during her first year on the level 3. It is wonderful to see her expanding her portfolio and embracing opportunities that arise to support her artistic journey.”
The exhibition is open during Hafren Theatres open times and runs until November. Visitors are encouraged to explore Esme’s creative vision and celebrate the achievements of emerging local talent.
