A Level results and GCSE results are issued on consecutive Thursdays in August. You will be contacted prior to results day with instructions on how to pick up your results.
The College will be open at 8am to issue results face-to-face, at all main college sites (Afan, Neath, Brecon Beacons and Newtown).
Your tutors are really looking forward to celebrating your successes with you in person.
For those unable to attend College, results will be available online via Prospect from 12pm (noon).
For students needing support and advice, staff will be available for you to talk to on August 15 and 16, in-person or online.
For students needing support with their UCAS applications or Clearing, Higher Education staff will be available in the Think Tank at Neath College from 8:30am. They can also be reached on: 0330 818 8040.
Results will be issued in Café 73 at Neath College and the Main Reception areas for all other college sites from 9am

Occupational-based vocational qualifications i.e. EAL and City and Guilds results are available from Main Reception from this date onwards.

From the beginning of April student’s personal timetables can be viewed on the Learner hub.
The exam dates and times are set by the awarding bodies, and these cannot be changed. Students who are unable to attend on the timetabled date cannot sit on an alternative day or time.
These timetables should be checked carefully to ensure that:
All personal details are correct, if anything is incorrect, please contact the Examinations Team.
All expected entries are listed, make a note of the dates, and start time of each examination. All AM exams start at 9.30am, all PM exams start at 1.30pm. If you believe any to be missing or incorrect, please contact the Examinations Team.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the start time of your examinations.
Practical’s, Orals, and Non-Examination Assessments often have no published date, please make sure you know when these are.

Timetable Clashes
If there is a timetable clash – that is, two or more exams scheduled for the same day and time, usually these will be sat these on the same day with supervision in-between. The Examinations team will confirm these arrangements nearer the time, in writing.
For the Summer 2024 exams, the awarding bodies have agreed to include two additional half-day contingency sessions. These are on Thursday 6June 2024 and Thursday 13 June 2024. The standard contingency day remains at the end of the timetable being scheduled on Wednesday 26June 2024.
Candidates should be encouraged to remain available until Wednesday 26 June 2024 should examinations need to be rescheduled.
The Exam Boards offer advice and tips on their websites, you may want to look at the resources available to help prepare for examination for the qualification followed, these are a few of them.
Results for vocational courses may be available when you are still in college, but this may differ from course to course. Speak to your programme leader about vocational course results.
Certificates for AS Level, A Level, Welsh Baccalaureate and GCSE subjects are available for collection from reception on the campus where you studied from November onwards. Most other awarding bodies should be available from the end of October.
It is the student’s responsibility to enquire with the campus office/exams officer if certificates have arrived. We do not send out a letter confirming certificates have arrived.
When you come to collect your certificates you will need to bring identification. This could be a bank card, passport or driving licence.
In some circumstances, you can ask someone else to collect your certificates on your behalf. The person who is collecting the certificates will need to bring with them a letter from you stating that you have given them permission to collect the certificates. They will also need to bring proof of their identification, this could be a bank card, passport or driving licence. Please note that the College only retains certificates for up to threeyears after your complete your studies, after which, the certificates will be destroyed and you will need to contact the individual examination board (WJEC, AQA etc.) Certificate replacements can cost up to £60 per certificate plus an administration fee and postage fee.
For students who studied at Llandarcy Academy of Sports, Pontardawe College or Swansea Construction Centre, you will need to go to Neath College to collect your certificates.
What to do if there is severe weather in the examination period
During periods of adverse weather, other than when the College is officially closed, all examinations are expected to continue as scheduled. In the event of adverse weather conditions weather forecasts, college website and twitter should be monitored, which will ordinarily be updated with information.

Where can certificates be collected?
Qualification certificates are issued about 8 weeks after results and will be available to COLLECT at Main Reception on the campus where the student studied. We do not post certificates.
Certificates are retained in the college for three years after course completion and then destroyed.
How do I request a replacement certificate?
Please phone the Awarding Body that you sat the exam with e.g., City & Guilds, WJEC. If you are unsure, please email Exams Team – exams@nptcgroup.ac.uk
Awarding bodies will charge for replacement certificates.
What to do if a student is late for an exam
Morning examinations start at 9:30am. The student will be allowed to enter the examination venue if they arrive by 10:00am.
Afternoon exams start at 13:30pm. Students will be allowed to sit if they arrive before 2:30pm.
Students who think they are going to be late, should contact the college reception of the site where they are sitting the exam or the exams department as soon as possible on the day of the exam.
Locations of examinations
Examinations are often split across several locations and information will be displayed on the exams notice boards in main reception of the campus where the exam is being held.
