We know joining College is a big step – and with so many subjects on offer, finding the right course can seem daunting. That’s why we work hard to provide school leavers with a range of opportunities to find the course that’s right for them.

Over the past years, we have built up a catalogue of resources – from reading lists to online guides and subject-specific video lessons – designed to help school leavers make an informed choice about what they want to study.

Year 10 Taster Days

In addition, we offer pupils in secondary education the opportunity to sample a range of courses first-hand as part of our Taster Sessions. In Year 10, we invite whole year groups from our partner and affiliated schools to come into College to spend a full day following a bespoke timetable. This is a direct arrangement with schools, that takes place towards the end of the academic year, and pupils do not need to apply.

Year 11 Taster Experience

More than that, we extend that experience into Year 11 by offering pupils a Pre-College Taster Experience where they can, with their school’s permission, attend College for a full day to join students already studying their subjects of choice. This is the most immersive experience for anyone considering a particular course.

AS Level Transition and GCSE Bridging Resources

Our A Level subject specialists have created a bespoke set of resources for you to access online. Each subject resource is in the form of a playlist and will give you an insight into important skills you will need while studying the AS subject.

You can access these resources from home, and work through them at your own pace. We would expect you to take about two hours to work through each subject playlist.

In addition, there are GCSE Maths and English bridging playlists available which you may find helpful to brush up your skills on key topics from your GCSE.
