Lilliput Day Nursery – Open to the Community

At Lilliput Day Nursery, we understand the importance of your child’s development and provide a wide and varied range of activities with the emphasis on having fun and learning through play by fully qualified staff. Through following the Foundation Phase framework, all children are allowed to develop at their own pace with support and guidance from the highly qualified and experienced staff.

Each area follows a programme that includes personal and social development, language and literacy, mathematics, and physical and creative development. The Lilliput Day Nursery is open between 7.30 am to 6.00 pm from Monday to Friday at our Neath Campus throughout the year, excluding Bank holidays and Christmas week. During the school holidays, we also run a Holiday Club for 5 to 7 years and 11 months.

Our Facilities

The Baby Room

The baby room cares for babies from 12 weeks up to 2 years of age. We provide a stimulating and educational environment with a completely enclosed indoor area plus an outside play area with cars, bicycles and small climbing frames for daily exercise.

Both areas are fully supervised at all times. There is a calm, quiet room with cots and beds for whenever your child needs to rest. We realise that the transition from home to nursery can be a big step for a baby so we ensure the individual routines of your child will be followed by a key worker in the baby room.

The Over 2’s Room

In this busy and interesting environment, we will start to introduce elements of the Foundation Phase and we will strive to build your child’s independence ready for their next transition into school. We have a large open play area with areas dedicated to activities such as role-play, floor play, tabletop activities or messy or wet play such as the water trough, sand tray, and painting.

CIW Inspection Reports

The Lilliput Day Nursery is inspected annually by the Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) and has always received excellent reports. Highlights from our most recent reports include:

“Children benefit from interaction that is warm, caring and nurturing because during the inspection we (CIW) evidenced that the children were thoroughly enjoying interacting with staff members.

“The children have a sense of achievement; this is because staff gave praise at every opportunity. The children were praised for their efforts and for completing tasks, with staff responding with ‘well done, excellent job’.”

For a full view of our inspection reports, please ask in the nursery.
