Gabi Wilson Represents Wales in Team UK at EuroSkills 2025

Congratulations to all seven talented individuals from Wales who proudly represented the UK at EuroSkills 2025 – one of the largest and most prestigious events celebrating vocational education and skills excellence. Held in Herning. Denmark, the competition brought together top young professionals from 32 member countries.

Among the Wales representatives was Newtown College Catering student Gabi Wilson.  Each competitor demonstrated exceptional technical ability, resilience and professionalism as they went head-to-head with Europe’s best. Two Welsh team members Tomas Ankers and Yuliia Batrak were awarded Medallions of Excellence.

Shaun Bailey, Catering Lecturer at Newtown College, praised Gabi’s efforts: “We are incredibly proud of Gabi. She displayed professionalism, a high level of skill and unwavering determination while competing on a European platform.  It was fantastic for the entire team.  After the intensity of the competition, they all enjoyed a well-deserved celebration at the spectacular closing ceremony”

All competitors will continue their training with the goal of earning a place on Team UK for WorldSkills Shanghai, China 2026.
