NPTC Group of Colleges is proud to announce its continued commitment to preventing harassment, abuse, and violence against women and girls by marking White Ribbon Day on Tuesday, November 25th. As the First college in Wales to hold the prestigious White Ribbon accreditation, NPTC Group of Colleges demonstrates its dedication to promoting gender equality, raising awareness, and ensuring that both men and women are part of the solution.
To commemorate this important day, each college site featured designated areas in the main receptions where external service partners joined college staff and students to raise awareness about the campaign. These areas served as hubs for information and support, fostering a community-wide dialogue on the importance of ending gender-based violence.
NPTC Group of Colleges CEO Mark Dacey shared his thoughts on the significance of supporting the White Ribbon charity:
“At NPTC Group of Colleges, we stand united in support of White Ribbon Day and its powerful message: #SpeakUp. Letting sexism slide. Whether through jokes, comments, or everyday behaviours it puts women and girls at risk. These actions may seem trivial, but they contribute to a culture that tolerates disrespect and, ultimately, abuse.
This year, as a White Ribbon Ambassador I am calling on all men to use their voices. Speaking up isn’t always easy, but it’s essential. Every time we challenge inappropriate behaviour, we help build a safer, more respectful world. Silence allows harm to continue; speaking up sets a better example. Together, let’s create a culture where everyone feels safe, equal, and valued.”
NPTC Group of Colleges invites all students, staff, and community members to join us in this vital campaign. Together, we can make a difference and work towards a future free from violence and discrimination.
