NPTC Group of Colleges is delighted to announce the development of two brand-new, state-of-the-art Games Development and Esports rooms, further strengthening its commitment to delivering industry-leading digital learning experiences for students across Further Education and Higher Education.
Building on the recent success of the College’s pioneering Immersive Room, the first facility of its kind in a Welsh college, these latest additions will provide students with outstanding opportunities to gain hands-on experience in one of the fastest-growing sectors in the global digital economy.
The new facilities will combine cutting-edge games development spaces with professional-standard esports environments. Designed to reflect real-world industry settings, the rooms will feature high-performance gaming PCs, fast-refresh premium monitors, specialist esports peripherals, dedicated gaming furniture and expert-led teaching stations.
Students will benefit from access to powerful, industry-standard equipment while developing a broad range of technical and transferable skills. These include game design, 3D modelling, programming, animation, artificial intelligence, user experience design, and digital content creation, as well as teamwork, communication, leadership, and strategic thinking skills gained through esports participation.
The new environments will support both competitive esports and classroom learning, enabling students to participate in tournaments, collaborative projects, and creative development work. This integrated approach ensures learners are well prepared for progression into higher education, apprenticeships and careers within the games, esports and wider digital sectors.
