It is so important to keep your digital skills up to date whether you are a beginner or already have some digital skills, then we have a course that meets your needs – you can learn something new, gain a qualification or help with employment.

Our Digital Skills and Computers Don’t Bite classes cover a variety of digital skills topics that will help you carry out day to day tasks with confidence.

Subjects include:

  • Searching the internet
  • How to set up and use your tablet
  • Use of free apps and educational apps on tablets and smart phones
  • Support to create CVs and job applications
  • Help children with homework and online learning
  • Internet safety/privacy and protection – help you and your family stay safe online
  • Using you tube, What’s App, Messenger and other social media apps
  • Sending and receiving email
  • Accessing online newspapers, books magazines
  • How to shop online safely
Entry Requirements

There are no entry requirements.

When you join, you will have a discussion with your Adult Learning in the Community (ALC) tutor to decide which subjects are most appropriate for you.  You will also complete an initial assessment so that you are working on a qualification at the correct level.

Career Prospects

You can progress to higher levels in essential skills, GCSEs or on to a vocational course suitable for employment.

Assessments

This will depend on the qualification taken:

Agored Cymru units can be assessed through coursework, oral questions and answers, role play/simulation or written tests

Essential Skills Wales qualifications in Application of Number, Communication or Digital Literacy are assessed through controlled assessments.
