AS Level / A Level Ancient History (Full-Time/Part-Time)
Course Overview
The AS Level and A Level Ancient History course at NPTC Group of Colleges is designed to develop students’ understanding of the ancient world and its influence on modern society. Students will explore Greek and Roman history, including political, military, religious and social developments, while developing analytical and critical thinking skills. Students will learn to interpret historical evidence, evaluate different viewpoints and form well-supported arguments to prepare for higher education.
Students will typically require 6 GCSEs at grade C or above, including English.
A Level in Ancient History provides a strong foundation for progression into higher education courses such as Modern History, Law, English, Politics, Ancient History or Classics. Career opportunities may include:

- journalist
Students will study two period studies, exploring a substantial span of Greek and Roman history over at least 75 years.
Students are assessed through examinations at the end of each year of study.
There may be additional course-related costs, including textbooks, stationery, printing and educational visits.
