Course Overview

The AS Level / A Level Computer Science requires logical discipline and imaginative creativity in the design and writing of programs. This encourages an awareness of the management and organisation of computer systems in IT. This is located in the Sixth Form Academy (SFA). Year One is about acquiring the knowledge and understanding of software, system development, data and applications, and using this knowledge to develop a solution to a given problem. Year Two builds on the foundation of Year One, and leads to the development of a solution to a substantial problem of the candidate’s own choice.

  • Entry Requirements

    A minimum of six GCSEs at Grade C or above including Mathematics at Grade B or above and English at C or above but not necessarily ICT or Computing.
