Course Overview
This qualification is designed to allow candidates to learn, develop, and practice the skills required for employment and career progression in painting. This involves preparing background surfaces for painting and applying paint by brush and roller.
Successful delegates gain employment opportunities and the ability to progress onto the City & Guilds Level 3 NVQ Decorative Finishing – Painting and Decorating qualification.

- Conforming to General Health, Safety and Welfare in the Workplace
- Applying Surface Coatings by Brush and Roller in the Workplace
- Conforming to Productive Working Practices in the Workplace
- Erecting and Dismantling Access/Working Platforms in the Workplace
- Moving, Handling and Storing Resources in the Workplace
- Preparing Surfaces for Painting and/or Decorating in the workplace
