Located in Shijingshan District of Beijing, Beijing Polytechnic College is an ordinary higher vocational school organised by the Beijing Municipal Government, and is one of the first independent higher vocational colleges and national model higher vocational colleges in China. It is the first independent higher vocational institution in China and a national model higher vocational institution. The school was formerly known as Beijing Coal Industry School, which was founded in 1956 under the Ministry of Coal Industry, and started to organise higher vocational education in 1994, and was formally restructured into a college of vocational technology in 1999. The school now has seven faculties (departments) and colleges of continuing education and international education, with five professional groups covering eight major categories and 27 majors, forming a unique professional system oriented to the fields of urban construction, operation, management and service, with engineering majors as the main focus and the coordinated development of different disciplines, such as engineering, management, literature, law and so on.
In 2000, Beijing Polytechnic College was identified by the Ministry of Education as one of the first batch of model vocational and technical colleges construction units in China, in 2002, it was identified as one of the model colleges with key support from the state finance, in 2003, it was identified as one of the 8 excellent colleges in China in the assessment of the level of talent cultivation work of the first batch of higher vocational colleges and universities, and in 2007, it became the one hundred ’ National Model Higher Vocational Colleges and Universities’ in 2007, became one of the first three higher vocational colleges and universities to pilot the project of through-train cultivation of high-end technical and skilled talents in Beijing in 2015, was identified by the Ministry of Education as one of the first batch of pilot projects of vocational education “going out” in 2016, and became a “featured high-level vocational college” in Beijing in 2019. In 2016, it was identified by the Ministry of Education as one of the first pilot project schools of ‘going out’ in vocational education, and in 2019, it became the construction unit of ‘high-level vocational school with special characteristics’ in Beijing. It has been awarded the Top 50 National Colleges and Universities for Employment Work, Top 50 National Teaching Management, Top 50 National Teaching Resources, and Top 50 Asia-Pacific Vocational Colleges and Universities for Influence. The school is also renowned for its achievements in the National Vocational College Teachers‘ Teaching Ability Competition and Students’ Skills Competition. The school’s main running indicators and comprehensive running strength are in the forefront of similar institutions in China, and it is one of the most influential higher vocational colleges and universities in the country.

Jinan Vocational College of nursing, formerly known as Jinan Health School of Shandong Province, was founded in 1953. 1994, the former Jinan Tuberculosis Prevention and Control Hospital was merged into Jinan Health School of Shandong Province. 2005, Jinan Health School of Shandong Province, Jinan Agricultural School and Jinan Agricultural Research Institute were merged to form the new Jinan Health School of Shandong Province.
The college has a beautiful environment and excellent location, covering an area of more than 600 acres, surrounded by green hills and lush greenery, and built according to the mountains, with one step and one view, which is an excellent place for students to study and learn. Over the past 80 years since the founding of the school, it has trained more than 100,000 qualified graduates for the society, and many of them have grown up to be the leaders and technical backbones of the medical and health care industry in and out of the province, among which, they include the winner of the Nightingale Medal, the famous experts and professors from Peking Union Medical College and other famous hospitals, and the leaders of the major hospitals in the province.
The college offers nursing, midwifery, pharmacy, traditional Chinese medicine, pharmaceutical production technology, pharmaceutical business and management, medical imaging technology, medical testing technology, intelligent medical equipment technology, medical aesthetic technology, optometry technology, health big data management and service, medical nutrition, food inspection and testing technology, public health management, infant and child care service and management, acupuncture and massage, rehabilitation therapy technology, Chinese medicine rehabilitation technology, Smart Healthy Aging Service and Management, Sports Health Care and Rehabilitation, Oral Medicine Technology, Oral Health Care, Pet Medical Technology, Chinese Veterinary Medicine, a total of 25 majors and a five-year system of higher vocational courses. Among them, the nursing, public health management and intelligent health care service and management majors have ‘3+2’ through training pilot. Nursing and pharmacy majors are the key professional construction projects identified by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance as ‘Supporting higher vocational schools to enhance their professional service industry development capacity’, and nursing major is the ‘Shandong Province Higher Vocational Schools Characteristic Professional Construction Point’. The teaching team of nursing and pharmacy professional group is the provincial excellent teaching team, and the nursing and recreation professional group is supported by 20 million RMB for the construction of high-level professional group for three years by the Provincial Department of Education.

The Centre of Excellence for British Vocational Education in China is a service program offering participants a professional and standardised Vocational Education system of delivery based on evidence-based student-centred learning. This practice is accepted in most developed countries. The Centre of Excellence model has also been well received in other countries as well as China, India, The Middle East, Vietnam and Thailand.
CEBVECs contribute towards vocational education system development for secondary, higher vocational colleges in China and the applied undergraduate colleges, produces high-quality teaching teams and delivery graduates with technical skills training, employment, and education progression, and boosting Chinese colleges and universities in enhanced international influence and competitiveness. Introducing British vocational education resources and delivery standards attracts senior vocational education teaching experts, integrates major construction techniques, teacher training, and quality assurances and assessments. Students integrated and benefit from the whole process and internationalised Student-centred learning approaches.
NPTC Group of Colleges enables TVET systems to work sustainably and cohesively. CEBVEC has set up its headquarters in the UK and has a China office based in Beijing, which is responsible for the development of partnerships between high-quality vocational colleges in the UK and China’s secondary, higher vocational and application-oriented undergraduate colleges.
CEBVEC is supported by leading institutions in the UK, including the British Council, The House of Lords, Welsh, and UK Central Government. It is designed to support the progression of China’s economic development policies, internationalising teaching techniques and improving the skill levels as recognised at international standards, for Highly Skilled Human Resource Supply Chains to key export initiatives, e.g., Chinas Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and in the graduate’s overall contribution to Chinese social and economic development. CEBVEC takes the standards and methodology as adopted in the United Kingdom Further Education Sector, although enables and encourages local Chinese characteristics in the focus of its outcome and employability of graduates.

Initiated jointly by The Association of Education and Technology (AET) and the NPTC Group of Colleges in the UK, the Sino-British Centre for Industry-Driven Vocational Education aims to strengthen cooperation between Chinese Vocational Colleges and International high-level Vocational Education Institutions and Organisations. The centre will engage in academic research, standard formulation, personnel exchange, and explore international communication of vocational standards and mutual recognition of certificates. It will particularly focus on enhancing the English-language teaching proficiency of Chinese vocational college teachers, improving their ability to deliver professional courses and practical teaching(双师型教师), and supporting the internationalisation of teacher teams and talent cultivation in schools. The centre will provide the most comprehensive professional coverage and the largest international teaching and practice platform for the integration of industry and education. (产教融合)
The Association of Education and Technology (AET) is a non-profit international organisation registered in Cambridge, United Kingdom, dedicated to providing professional services for global educational development. Headquartered in Cambridge, with its first office established in China, AET is committed to facilitating inter-school exchanges and teaching collaborations in early education, basic education, vocational education, and higher education between the UK and countries worldwide. It aims to cultivate students with a global perspective, strengthen STEM education, and develop a variety of skills required for 21st-centurytalents. AET, based in Cambridge, collaborates closely with partners and experts from renowned institutions such as the University of Cambridge, the University of Oxford, the British Council, the Royal Society, the National STEM Learning Centre, and the Institution of Engineering and Technology. Leveraging the high-quality educational resources in the UK, AET promotes British education standards, concepts, and curricula worldwide. Since 2017, AET has collaborated with platforms such as the Chinese National Institute of Education Sciences and the China International Education Exchange Association, as well as domestic and international expert teams, to assist Chinese vocational colleges in achieving their construction goals. Together, they have successfully implemented various tasks, including international accreditation of professional standards, collaborative education, teacher training, student vocational qualification examinations and training, and talent introduction projects, which have been highly recognised by various government departments and educational institutions.
