Taking place from 21-27 September 2026, Adult Learners Week celebrates lifelong learning and highlights the positive impact education can have on individuals, families and communities. Throughout September, NPTC Group of Colleges will be out in the community showcasing the diverse range of courses and qualifications available to adult learners.
From professional and access courses to hobby-based learning, GCSEs in English and Maths, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), university-level study and hundreds of online learning opportunities, there is something to suit every interest and ambition.
As industries across Wales continue to experience skills shortages, part-time study offers adults the chance to gain valuable qualifications, develop new skills and improve employment prospects. Whether learners are looking to progress in their current role, retrain for a new career, or build confidence through education, NPTC Group of Colleges provides flexible learning options designed to fit around work and family commitments.
Courses run throughout the year and benefit from small class sizes and personalised support, helping learners achieve their goals in a welcoming and supportive environment.
As part of the celebrations, members of the public are invited to meet the Adult Learning team at three community information events:
- Aberafan Shopping Centre – 22 September 2026, 10 am to 2 pm
- Morrisons Neath – 24 September 2026, 10 am to 2 pm
- Brecon Beacons College Community Open Evening (Y Gaer, Watton Mount & The Coach House, Ship Street, The CTWCH) – 30 September 2026, 5 pm to 7 pm
Visitors will have the opportunity to speak with experienced staff, explore available courses and learning pathways, and receive advice on funding, qualifications and career progression opportunities. At our Brecon Open Evening, visitors will have the opportunity to explore the new facilities, meet staff, and discover the wide range of courses available. Interactive activities will offer a hands-on experience of learning, inspiring prospective students of all ages.
Adult learning offers much more than qualifications. It can broaden horizons, build confidence, improve wellbeing and create valuable new connections. Whether taking a first step back into education, exploring a long-held interest or preparing for a career change, Adult Learners Week provides an opportunity for everyone to discover what learning can achieve.
Never Stop Learning
Adult Learners Week is free and open to everyone. It is a chance to embrace new opportunities, develop existing skills, gain confidence and pursue personal and professional goals.
NPTC Group of Colleges is also highlighting its extensive adult learning provision, including the Multiply Maths and Numeracy projects, designed to help adults improve their confidence and skills in numeracy while supporting everyday life and career development.
