Course Overview

The Access to Higher Education Diploma – Science is designed to prepare students to study science-related subjects in Higher Education. This is located in the Sixth Form Academy (SFA).

It covers a range of core subjects in modules such as Biology, Chemistry, Psychology, Physics and Mathematics.

This Science qualification is designed for learners wishing to make their careers in local government, National Health Trusts, Ministry of Defence, Police Forces, schools, FE colleges and universities, analytical and forensic laboratories, environmental conservation agencies, telecom agencies, oil and gas companies.

  • Entry Requirements

    Applications can be made from learners who do not hold any formal qualifications; however, a skills assessment and an interview will need to be undertaken to determine suitability for the course.

    Learners with GCSE Maths and English Language at grade C or above do not need to undertake the skills assessment but will have an interview.

    Applicants should have a positive disposition and deal well with challenges and be motivated, reliable, and mature.
