Course Overview
This one-year full-time internship programme at NPTC Group of Colleges is designed to support students in developing employability, independence and workplace skills through meaningful real-life work experience. Students typically spend approximately two days per week in a workplace placement and one day in college, combining practical experience with structured teaching, personal development and individual target setting to support progression into employment and independent living.
Applications are welcomed from students with Additional Learning Needs. Students are normally recruited from existing Independent Living Skills programmes or from those who demonstrate a clear interest in developing workplace, employability and independent living skills.
On successful completion, students may progress to supported internships, shared apprenticeships, voluntary placements or paid employment. The course aims to equip students with transferable job skills, confidence and experience to support long-term progression into the workplace.
Assessment is ongoing and based on individual learner targets, practical achievement and progress within the workplace. Progress is monitored and recorded through the RARPA process and includes regular reviews, employer feedback and evidence of employability skill development.
There will be additional course-related costs.
