Level 2 Diploma in Hair and Media Make-up (Full-Time)
Course Overview
The VTCT Level 2 Diploma in Hair and Media Make-up is designed to help students develop skills in both hairdressing and media make-up. Students will learn essential techniques including health and safety, client care, applying make-up, photographic make-up, dressing hair and creating an image using combined hair and media make-up skills. Students will also take part in lessons in hairdressing theory, beauty theory, digital literacy, tutorial sessions and one-to-one progress reviews.
2 GCSEs at grade D.
This qualification can lead directly into employment in the hairdressing or beauty therapy industries as a junior stylist or therapist, or to work as an independent stylist specialising in hair and media make-up.
Shampooing, styling hair, make up, client care, health and safety, creating an image, Plaiting and twisting hair - the mandatory and optional units are outlined in the course overview.
VTCT qualifications are assessed and quality assured by centre staff. Students will complete written evidence, external tests and practical assessments, and must achieve a minimum pass mark of 70 percent. Practical work will be observed and all evidence must be kept in a portfolio.
