Step Into College – Level 1 Introductory Diploma in Vocational Studies BTEC (Full-time)
Course Overview
The BTEC Level 1 Introductory Diploma in Vocational Studies is the perfect full-time course for 16–18 year olds who want to re-engage with learning and a chance to rediscover their potential. Designed to help you rebuild confidence and develop new skills, this course offers a supportive and practical pathway into education and future careers.
You’ll study a mix of 4 core units that develop essential skills, alongside 6 optional units that let you have a taste of a number of different study areas.
Successful interview with a college lecturer.
Successful completion of the course can enable students to progress onto selected level 2 courses.
- Developing a personal progression plan
- Working with others
- Researching a topic
Alongside this will be 6 optional units in a variety of different subjects to give the learner a taste of potential pathways within the college. There will also be skills modules based around resilience and wellbeing.
There will be a variety of different assessment methods to develop different skills, such as written tasks, practical tasks and presentations.
