Apprentices will work towards the following qualifications:
- C&G Level 3 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Competence;
- C&G Level 3 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Principles; Units include: Health & Safety and Good Housekeeping, Supporting Job Roles, Materials, Fabrication, Tools and Measuring Devices, Inspecting Light Vehicles Using Prescribed Methods, Diagnosing and Rectifying Light Vehicle Combustion Engine and Component Faults, Diagnosing and Rectifying Light Vehicle Chassis System Faults, Diagnosing and Rectifying Vehicle Auxiliary Electrical Faults, Knowledge of Diagnosis and Rectification of Light Vehicle Transmission and Driveline Faults.
- ESW Application of Number Skills (proxy exemptions apply).
- ESW Communication Skills (proxy exemptions apply).
- Digital Literacy (proxy exemptions apply).
What will the qualification lead to?
Level 3 Candidates who are successful at Level 3 will be able to progress to a range of further education and professional body awards. For example:
• City & Guilds level 4 Automotive qualifications and equivalents offered by other awarding bodies.
• Institute of Leadership and Management level 3 Supervisor or level 4 Management Qualifications.
• Professional institution membership.
