Research Skills

These will help you learn how to plan and carry out a literature search, identify appropriate sources of information, and define the scope of your project topic or assignment title.

Finding Information

Library staff are information retrieval experts. They will guide you through the vast range of information sources that are available online and in the library. They will help you plan your search strategies and quickly find good quality and relevant reading material for your academic studies.

Referencing

Library staff and tutors will show you how to avoid plagiarism by creating citations and referencing lists using approved academic referencing standards.

IT and Digital Skills

Library staff can advise on all sorts of IT and digital issues; from connecting your laptop to the Wi-Fi to backing up your work; word processing to creating presentations.

HE Study Coach

Our HE Study Coach, Rob, is available to assist higher education (uni-level) students with their study skills. Rob has special knowledge on dissertation writing and plagiarism, as well as presentation and essay writing.
