‘Thirsty’ work for NPTC Group of Colleges’ Drama Students

NPTC Group of Colleges’ Nidum Arts Centre welcomed the award winning ‘Paper Birds’ for a special production and masterclass recently.

The College’s drama students were treated to a performance of ‘Thirsty’ by the theatre company and were joined by around 100 pupils from local schools and colleges, before enjoying a masterclass with the actors.

The Paper Birds are an award-winning theatre company founded in 2003 upon friendship and a mutual love of contemporary theatre, making work that places female roles centre stage. The company pride themselves on taking socio-political subjects and making them accessible and has visited the USA, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Netherlands, Italy, Ireland and Switzerland with their performances and workshops.

Zoe Arrietta, A Level Drama Subject Leader said:

‘’The Paper Birds production was recently described by the Telegraph as ‘An Energetic Roller-coaster’ and it certainly was that! We were delighted that so many local schools were able join our students for the performance and the masterclass for the College’s drama students was yet another fantastic experience and a brilliant opportunity for the students to work with actors from the industry.’’
