NPTC Group of Colleges has a very successful apprenticeship programme with some exceptional companies, such as DVLA; Welsh Rugby Union (WRU); Swansea City FC and both Powys Teaching Health Board and Swansea Bay University Health Boards.

It’s not just the partnerships that succeed but many of our apprentices compete in World Skills Competitions across all the sectors, most recently Curtis Rees, a welding apprentice from Resolven was the first student from NPTC Group of Colleges to win a highly coveted gold medal as he was crowned the best young welder in the UK at finals usually held at the NEC in Birmingham.

The National Finals were the culmination of six years of hard work and competition for Curtis. The prestigious competition saw more than 500 apprentices and students compete in over 70 disciplines to be crowned the best in the UK in a vocational pathway

An apprenticeship or work-based learning gives you the chance to gain valuable experience in a real job and get nationally recognised qualifications, all whilst earning a wage!

Its Apprenticeship Week!

Apprenticeship Week is an annual week-long celebration of apprenticeships, and the value they bring to employers and learners across Wales. It aims to shine a light on the great work of apprentices, whilst highlighting the many benefits apprentices bring to their business.

NPTC Group of Colleges will be celebrating the week through our social channels but also hosting a virtual event this Thursday 11th February from 4 pm – 6 pm for anyone interested in finding out more about how apprenticeships work and how can they can be the key to your dream career!
