College and Y Gaer Team Up For New Café Opening

College and y Gaer staff welcome first customers to the Cafe

The new café in y Gaer has opened to a warm welcome. People are now visiting the latest addition to Brecon’s library and museum for hot drinks and more! For a taster visit to the café, a happy group of librarians enjoyed a break in the new venue (pictured).

The café can be found at the back of the library and is currently open on weekday afternoons until 3pm. As the café gets busier and more hospitality staff join the team, the opening times will be extended.

Run by staff at Brecon Beacons College, the café is the first new addition to y Gaer as part of the College’s relocation into the town centre. As part of a collaboration between y Gaer and NPTC Group of Colleges, some facilities are being opened by the College over the coming years to help increase provision by both public services and provide education fit for the 21st century.

Café Supervisor, Andy Borgia, added: “We’re happy and excited to be here and look forward to serving more locals, visitors and students.”

If you want to be part of the new café team, there are currently job opportunities in full-time and part-time roles. For more information, please email café-y-gaer@nptcgroup.ac.uk.
