Brecon Beacons College and Penmaes learners Unite for a Theatre Show

Young people from Brecon Beacons College and Ysgol Penmaes.

The Seren Stars show returned to Theatr Brycheiniog on Friday 16th June; the first time a performance like it has happened since the pandemic! Now on its ninth show, Seren Stars is a performing arts group for teenagers and young people from Brecon Beacons College and Ysgol Penmaes.

The group caters performing arts lessons to learners with complex needs and gives them a unique space to try out different art styles. From dance routines to stand-up comedy to rock and roll, the stage was set on Friday for a lively show. After a year of planning and rehearsing, the group came together for an entertaining montage of songs, jokes, speeches and more. Highlights included a group performance of ‘Sweet Caroline,’ George’s Balloon Art and Finlay’s stand-up set!

Staff working with the students could see how much they grew in confidence throughout the year and think they should be very proud.

The Life Skills students from Brecon Beacons College said: “The experience made us happy, excited and it was something we will never forget. We will finish the year on a high.”
