There were smiles all round at Newtown College and Brecon Beacons College as students collected their results, marking a proud moment for learners, staff, and the wider community. As many completed their Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications, the atmosphere was filled with excitement for the bright futures ahead.
Students shared their next steps, which ranged from higher education to degree apprenticeships and employment in their chosen industries.
Newtown College Highlights
Business – BTEC National Extended Diploma
Graduates are heading into diverse and exciting fields. Grace Evans will study Agribusiness with Management at Harper Adams University. Elis Derwas is beginning his career in Sales and Lettings at Morris, Marshall and Poole. Saffron Burke will combine her creativity and business skills by studying Business and Fashion in London. Mia Morgan has secured a degree apprenticeship with Airbus, blending academic study with hands-on industry experience. Natasha Morris will begin her professional journey in an administration role at Rees Astley Insurance. Harri Gethin, Freya Lloyd Jones, and Masimba Machado will all be starting AAT Accounting qualifications, with opportunities based in locations across the UK.
Lecturer Harriet Bailey said: “We are incredibly proud of what they’ve achieved, and even more excited for what comes next.”
Sport – Level 3
Learners achieving a Distinction include Aaron Powell, who will take a gap year, Morgan Harding, who will study at Cardiff Metropolitan University, Lucy Jones, who will attend Loughborough University, and Joe Morgan, who will also take a gap year.
Sports Lecturer Lisa Dodds praised: “Your dedication, hard work, and perseverance have truly paid off. The future is bright for each and every one of you!”
Childcare – Level 3
Standout results include A* grades for Ffion Pryce, Olivia Dillon, Esyllt Powell, Phoebe Castree, Elisia Thomas, and Lia Bentley. Ella Davis has secured a full-time role in a nursery. Earlier this year, Level 3 Childcare students excelled in their Unit 330 exam, with six students achieving Distinctions, two earning Merits, and one achieving a Pass.
Lecturer Laura Thomas said: “This is a tough qualification, so these results prove just how well they’ve all done.”
Health & Social Care
From overcoming personal challenges to achieving top marks, learners have shone in both Year 1 and Year 2. Klaudia Raczjakowska achieved an A grade and is exploring a future career in forensic psychology. Esme Price gained two As and a B and will go on to study Psychology at Aberystwyth University.
Lecturer Russell Coleman commented: “All the students have made huge progress through personal effort and commitment.”
Catering, Hospitality & Agriculture
Level 3 learners Shaylee Longman, Sereh Morgan-Page, and Mason Clements achieved Distinction and Merit grades. They also organised community events, including a charity afternoon tea for Severn Hospice and an 80th birthday lunch for a local resident.

Catrin Evans achieved a Distinction and will progress to study Film and TV at Aberystwyth University.
Adult Community Learners
Nikoleta Gergova completed Level 2 Foundation Access to Higher Education alongside ESOL and GCSE Maths and English. She aims to pursue a career as a midwife.
Lecturer Michael Fletcher said: “Nikoleta is one of those rare people who chooses a tough path because it will make a difference to many.”
Pathways Training – Apprenticeships
Learners achieved across a wide range of vocational and professional qualifications in construction, engineering, business, and accounting. Many are now progressing to Level 4 study or into employment.
Brecon Beacons College Highlights
Childcare, Play, Learning and Development
Outstanding results were achieved by Georgina Ganly, who received an A*, Summera Zafar, who also received an A*, Amy Griffiths, who achieved an A, and Daisy Davies, who also achieved an A.
Sport – Extended Diploma
Riley Bujok achieved a Distinction.
Business – BTEC
Tom Wilding achieved a Distinction.
Across both colleges, the results reflect exceptional dedication, resilience, and passion for learning. Staff expressed pride not only in the academic achievements but also in the personal growth and ambition shown by their learners.
