World-leading Teaching Expert Joins NPTC Group of Colleges

NPTC Group of Colleges is proud to announce the launch of a long-awaited strategic partnership with world-leading teacher training expert Geoff Petty.

The partnership will see the College work hand in hand with Geoff Petty to deliver UK standards in Methodology and Pedagogy in Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) and Teacher Training in China.

The international team at NPTC Group of Colleges was very proud to launch the online opening ceremony for the programme this week, with 50 invited guests.  The ceremony was attended by Geoff Petty, the Assistant Principal Worldwide Operations Steve Rhodes; Head of International Operations James Llewelyn and International Officer Angela Gill at NPTC Group of Colleges alongside leaders and teachers from both Hainan College of Economics and Business and Youcheng Foundation who will start the programme this month.

This programme will allow Chinese teachers the opportunity to gain insight into how teaching and learning is delivered in the UK and adopt these methods into their own work, providing an excellent standard of teaching to their own students in the technical and vocational sector.

By expanding the skill set of both teachers and students the programme hopes to stimulate social mobility in China. NPTC Group of Colleges’ Head of International Operations James Llewellyn praised the programme, explaining its aims to “introduce world-leading standards to teachers in China and support social mobility in large numbers”.

Additionally, the programme delivery is designed to be as environmentally friendly as possible, with Geoff Petty himself hailing the course as “a perfect example of UK and Welsh green innovation export”.

Trainees can rest assured they are in good hands as Geoff Petty’s books, ‘Teaching Today’   and ‘How to Teach Even Better’ have had widespread influence on teaching methods in the UK, with translated adaptations of his work are also becoming bestsellers in China.

On Behalf of Geoff Petty, Steve Rhodes, James Llewellyn, Angela Gill and everyone at NPTC Group of Colleges, we would like to wish all participants every success in their studies.
