Homestay Accommodation Guide
Ensuring that students feel secure and content in their accommodation is a paramount concern at NPTC Group of Colleges. To uphold this standard, we meticulously oversee all homestay accommodations through our dedicated team, in alignment with the rigorous benchmarks of the British Council Accreditation Scheme. This ensures a high-quality living experience that contributes positively to the educational journey of our students.
Understanding Homestay and Independent Homestay Accommodations
Homestay Accommodation
Opting for homestay accommodation connects you with a resident host family, providing a nurturing environment where meals are included on a half-board basis. This arrangement is not only conducive to immersing yourself in the English and Welsh languages through daily interaction but also offers the warmth and comfort of a home setting. You will share meals and common spaces with your host, fostering a sense of belonging and inclusion in their household.
According to the guidelines of the British Council Accreditation Scheme, a maximum of four students (or paying guests) can stay with a homestay provider. Typically, students are allotted a private bedroom; any requirement to share will be communicated in advance. Hosts are responsible for providing bedding and towels, with a weekly change, and laundry services are also available once a week. We proudly offer homestay accommodations across all our colleges and campuses to ensure every student finds their perfect home away from home.
Included Amenities in Homestay and Independent Homestay Accommodations
Included in your accommodation package are the following amenities:
- A private bedroom, complemented by access to a quiet study area.
- Weekly laundry services.
- Coverage of household bills (telephone expenses excluded).
- For students opting for a half-board basis with a resident host: breakfast and dinner on weekdays, and breakfast, a light lunch, and dinner on weekends.
- For students choosing a self-catering basis with a resident host: access to cooking and food storage facilities.
Expectations from Students in Homestay Accommodations
To ensure a harmonious living experience, students are advised to adhere to the following guidelines:
- Show politeness and consideration towards the host, respecting household rules particularly regarding smoking, noise levels, and curfews.
- Compensate for any damages caused to the property, whether accidental or otherwise.
- Take personal responsibility for insuring your belongings.
- Obtain permission for telephone use, cover the cost of your calls, and understand that internet access is subject to the host’s discretion, which may include additional charges and time restrictions.
- Communicate any accommodation concerns with your host or the accommodation team.
- Seek the host’s permission prior to inviting guests.
